Cider vinager and lemon juice in jar to kill flies??

Question:i have recently hurd of using cider vinager and lemon juice in a jar then cover with ceran wrap and poke small holes in the top will trap and kill house flies? is this true. I will try anything to get ride of these little pains. and also hurd if you clean with white vinager around were you see ants , then thy will not come into your home? im not a dirty person i live in southern utah were bugs overrun homes. thank you

I've never heard that about flies but I do know that they hate the color blue. The cider vinegar and lemon juice sounds inexpensive enough to try! As far as ants go you can also soak cotton balls with pure peppermint oil around the areas where the ants come inside-it'll smell better than the vinegar too!
