How safe is window washing as compared to other jobs? There is obviously a high risk but with precautions...?

Question:Just out of curiosity...some window washers were washing my girlfriends condo windows and it made me wonder.

My window washer has been in business for 15 years without an accident. He does my two story high windows and is very careful. Now, the guy who does my rentals scares me to death although he says he has never had an accident in 20 years, he takes out the slider, sits on the sill of the open window, and cleans the outside of the stationary window two storeys up!

I actually think, however, the guy who trims my trees and scoots the ladder around the trees while on it, has a more dangerous job.
