I put an iron-on transfer on a black t-shirt. When I washed it, all the color faded from the image.?

Question:I washed it in cold water inside out and did not dry it in the dryer. Does anyone know what went wrong?

If it was an iron-on of your own making (the kind that you make on the computer and spit out the printer) then you have to buy the sheets made specially for dark colored fabrics.
