How to get damp stains out of something white without using bleach?
Question:My hand-me-down baby basket has a damp stain on its coverings. Will soaking it in those special "white soak" powders that dont have bleach in it be a problem for the baby? What if I soak it in white soak to get the stain out as much as I can and then re-wash it in the special baby detergent and softener? I can always line the basket with another cot sheet or something to protect her from directly being in contact with the detergents if they might be harmful? I dont think I can buy other coverings as the model is from a few years ago.

I have the perfect solution for you that will be safe for baby and will not harm this blanket, Pour in quarter cup of Baby Shampoo in the warmest water the blanket can handle, usually blankets can only handle cool water that is fine, then pour on the stain with White Vinegar and allow to sit for about one hour then wash in the baby shampoo as directed above, the vinegar will be safe and will not cause any allergic reactions to your baby, and if the baby blanket has turned yellow that's if white well you can add a cup of the vinegar and wash in that without any detergent added to water your baby blanket will come out clean and white and will be sanitized and free of any detergent residues and vinegar will also add softness so you won't need any fabric softners or dryer sheets added, Vinegar has been touted as being the best disinfectant in the world and is least expensive and is an all purpose cleaner can be used all around your home and used in laundry cleaning and freshening and removing stains. Good Luck !
Soak in a solution of dishwasher detergent and water. Nothing is dangerous when it is thoroughly rinsed out.
The best and safest remedy to remove stains especially from white things is to cut a lemon in half squeeze the juice on the stain and put it out in the sun to bleach naturally and the stain should come out, then wash. If the stain is really bad try rubbing some salt then the juice of the lemon. Good luck.
