How many times do you wear your clothes before washing? Do you use cold, warm, or hot water in the washer?

There are several factors to consider as to how many times to wear your clothes before washing. Whites and light colors that show dirt need to be washed more often, as do clothes that are worn for labor or recreational activities which cause perspiration. If neither of these conditions apply, generally most clothing needs to be freshened up after about 3 wearings.
A cold water wash is best for bright or dark colored clothing like reds or blacks that tends to bleed. Hot water tends to cause the colors to fade faster. However, use only liquid detergent when washing in cold water, as the powder does not fully dissolve.
Hot water is best for durable heavily soiled items like work clothes. I also prefer to wash bedsheets in hot water because of the possibility of dust mites.
In general you can't go wrong with warm water, it works for most fabrics and detergents. If you need to boost the cleaning power of your detergent, borax or non-clorinated bleaches are safe for most clothes.
Any stains should be pre-treated before washing. The liquid spray with a soft brush works well. For white socks, just spray then throw them in the washer. Hope this helps.
I'll wear jeans a couple times if I haven't been anywhere "stinky" (smokey bars, places with animals), but everything else gets worn once.
I use cold for my darks, warm for my lights, and hot for my whites.
I'll wear them one time only.with the exception of jeans. I can go three days on jeans. Warm water only.
I wear my clothes about 2-3 times before washing. It's just that I'm not out sweating or getting dirty everyday so I feel OK to wear them 2-3 times. Cold water for my black-colored clothing and delicate items, warm/hot water for the white-cotton type clothing, and usually warm water for jeans and non-white, non-delicate clothing. I'm not an expert in laundary but it works for me :o)
I wear my clothes once and wash all clothes in warm water and whites in hot water and with bleach.
People in the US are too freaky about being clean.LOL! I wear pants, blouses, dresses, and sweaters 5-6 times. (Hang them up when you take them off. Leave space between the hangers to let the clothes air out.) I do change clothes a couple of times per day depending on the weather. I wear underwear and socks once. I wear garden clothes and work clothes (drywaller) until I can't stand them anymore or until they can stand by them selves.then I throw them away. I buy replacement tee shirts and jeans at thrift stores. There are 2 people in my household and we wash 2 loads of laundry per week.
I bathe every other day and wash my hair twice a week.
I always wash in cold water using All Detergent and give every load an extra rinse cycle.
Good luck in trying to find what works for you.
I'll wear jeans or shorts two or three times (as long as they still look and smell clean) shirts once, bras, panties and socks once. I use Tide with Febreeze soap and i wash everything in the same load whether its white or darks, in cold water. My whites stay white suprisingly too.
I use cold, warm & hot. Depends on the fabric. Colors usually like cold water best.
I wear clothes once. Water temp varies with each load.
It depends on how long I've worn them and what I did. I might wear a blouse for one hour one day while running errands, no need to wash it if I didn't spill anything. Same for jeans/shorts. If I was doing some messy yard work, they would need to be washed before wearing again. Under clothes are washed after one day, no matter what.
Whites are washed in warm/hot, with bleach and usually hung outside to dry. Colors in warm or cold, turned inside out and hung outside to dry also. Winter time, things go in the dryer.
I change my clothes every day.I wash with cold water becaue it cuts down on light bill.Juat get soap thats meant for cold water.
I wash after one day,all but my PJ's those I wear 3 days then wash.Use cold water to conserve as much as possible. There are times(once monthly) I use hot on my whites to keep them white.good question.
a couple days or so, depends on weather and what i am doing. my wife found that cold wash and cold rinse works just as well as warm and cold. [for regular clothes, that is] for those of you using hot water for jeans and heavy clothes, try cold and cold and be surprised.
