Do front load washing machines really clean clothes better?
Question:I've heard that and just always wondered if it was true. I'm looking to buy my first wash/dry set and wanted to know if it would be a waste of money to get a front loader or if it really does work better. Have any of you Yahoos had experience with both and reccommend one over the other? Do tell.

I work at an appliance store, and I can tell you that yes the front loads do get your clothes cleaner. They use far less energy, soap and water and the washer spin at such a high rpm that the clothes are hardly wet when they come out which decreases dryer time. Also, most of the fron loads can hold a lot more clothes than a standard washer.
Oh, and FYI, if you are going to buy new be sure to haggle on the price. We kick ours up quite a bit to cover even the delivery fee so that way we can offer free delivery and it seems like a great deal, but it has already been put into the price! On top of that we add a certain percent.
Good luck!
Yes, they really do. I just bought a set and they are definetly better. They also use less soap and water.
Front loaders are more gentle on the clothes, use less water and energy and clean much better. However, typically they are also more expensive.
We have recently switched to a front loader and it was worth the extra money. Not only does it clean our clothes better, it also saves on water/energy costs.
The only problem I have with front loaders is that they require HE laundry detergent, which is often more expensive and not available in all brands.
Otherwise, definitely recommended over the old top loader types!
