Can I wash/dry a bath rug -- with a rubber non-slip underside -- in my washer/dryer?
Question:It's time to wash it. It's gotten a tiny bit grody. I can't find the color in the stores anymore, unfortunately.
Is there the chance of ruining either the rubber on the bath rug, or ruining my washer/dryer?
Answers:
i wash my bath rugs all the time in my washer. one time i put one in my dryer and the rubber on the other side started to flake off. So i would recomend just hanging it up to dry.
No harm to the washer, and my dryer still works fine if you want to chance it.
I'd run it through the washer on a delicate mode, but let it air dry.
Hope I've helped!
It will wash out fine in a washing machine, just use warm water or even cold, but don't
put it in the dryer, the heat will corrode the rubber backing
and it will start to crack then flake off. So leave it out to
air dry.
It should be safe to wash in a short cycle but it's the dryer that is hard on it. Don't put it in the dryer. Hang it to dry and it should be fine.
No promises here, but I have done this multiple times on my
own rubber mat. No harm to mat, washer, or dryer.
Cleans up fine, especially since I have a young son, with the
middle name "Messy-Boy." :-)
u can clean it in the washer, probably under the gentle cycle, as u don't want to be too rash and damage the rubber.
It would be best to let it air dry. Most likely the heat would either melt the rubber or warp it in definitely.
But be careful with those typed of rugs as they can dirty the inside of your washer bin. So be sure to clean out the loose fags of carpeting left behind.
YES YOU CAN
I wash mine all the time. Use a regular setting on the washing machine, or the delicate cycle if you're really worried. I usually wash mine with a few towels.
Do not dry with heat. Put it in the dryer with a no heat setting. (usually called air fluff or timed dry no heat)
This has never harmed my rugs, or my machines. And I wash my rugs every week.
The only chance or ruining the rubber on the rug is if you dry with heat. The heat actually breaks down the rubber and causes it to start cracking and peeling off.
Good luck to you!
I've always washed my bathroom rug in the washer. But I hang it out to dry. Putting it in the dryer breaks down the rubber backing quicker.
most definately. I wash mine about once a month. i always thought the dryer would mess up the rubber underside, but it doesn't
