How do you get rid of Ring Around The Collar on washable mens dress shirts?
Question:I've tried SHOUT and several other leading stain removers. Nothing is working well at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm a bit reluctant to try hair spray (which I've found as a solution elsewhere). Thanks!
Answers:
cheapest option-washing up liquid rubbed into collar and then washed normally
buy new ones
I have tried whisk put some on and rub it in the stain/dirt rub hard then wash, It worked for me.
My grandmother used to use "Biz", the powder detergent, and a little water and hand scrubbed the collar before she washed it for all of my granddad's business shirts, I bet it will work for you!
oxy clean in the spray bottle..works wonders..
Look for a product called Simple Green and use 1/2 cup of that mixed with 1/4 cup of Tide and 1/2 cup of water and hand scrub with a soft scrub brush. this will definetly do the job.
Remove rings from collars and cuffs
Give them the boot by scrubbing the material with a paste made from 2 parts white vinegar to 3 parts baking soda. Let the paste set for half an hour before washing. This approach also works to remove light mildew stains from clothing.
You can also use dishwashing liquid and a small amount of baking soda and scrub with a soft old toothbrush then wait about twenty five to thirty minutes before laundering
Good Luck !
Try the hair spray if it worked before.i take Era plus detergent and put it on the collar and rub in,then let it sit on there overnite. It works good for me.I put Dawn dish detergent on a lot of my grease stains and it works...
Rub in some shampoo--takes out the oily stain.
I bought a pre wash at the Dollar Tree called LA's totally awesome laundry pre wash stain remover. spray on let sit awhile the use toothbrush in both directions launder as usual. works very well
