Starting a home based laundry business?

Question:I am interested in starting up my own home laundry business. Nothing major, just the basic household laundry. Has anyome on here done this before? If so can you give me some insight for it?

Answers:
I've never done this before, but wish you luck with it! One thing you may want to have is a clause in your contract that states if you follow the label washing instructions and garments are ruined then you aren't liable.

A lot of working women and busy bachelors would love to have a "fluff-n-fold" service...with an added feature of returning shirts on hangers rather than folded [hint!]. I've used both commercial one-day laundry drop-off service and lady-in-the-neighborhood type laundry service, and the deal-maker for either was nice folding, stuff on hangers, good packaging up [not just in a bin-liner!] and not losing anything...kids' socks, for instance. The commercial service charged by the pound of dirty clothes you brought in [they had a scale on the counter for weighing-in] and the neighbor-lady service charged by the laundry-bags you brought in to her. Good luck! Fold nice! Hang shirts!
