Why do clean, unstained clothes go into my washer and come out with stains and how do I remove?
Question:New shirt. Worn once. Didn't spill on it. Wash it. Now a stain on the chest and I am ticked off. What is causing it and how can I remove it? Is my washing machine bad? This is a bad way to start the friggin' day.

Use shout to get the stain out. It is good for spot cleaning too, so you could still wear that shirt today, just get the stain wet, spray on a little shout, work out the stain and rinse it, w/o getting your whole shirt wet, then use a hair dryer to get the spot dry.
It sounds like maybe your fabric softner is staining it. Be sure to wait until the rinse water has came in all the way before you add it.
Could there be rust in your machine which is getting transfered to your clothes?
What color is the stain? It possible that your washer's tub is rusting and this will cause stains.
Does your washing machine have detergent, bleach and fabric softener dispensers? If so, it is possible that the bleach and / or f.s. dispensers are dispensing when they shouldn't be. This will cause unwanted bleaching and staining.
Take your agitator off and clean it wipe all the yuk out, that should help. There is a knob on top of it just unscrew and remove to clean.
Some oily clothes were probably washed ahead of you. You didn't say what the stain is or whether you used a public washer ( laundromat ). If it's your washer, clean the washer with a cup of bleach or vinrgar and hot water (cycle) before you use it.
How old is the machine? In addition to the other answers you have recieved, you may have a bad seal between the tub and the gear box, and the stains are oil.
