Can I wash my clothes in cold water?

Question:

Answers:
Of course. It is the only way I wash any of my laundry. Make sure to use a cold water detergent though. People will tell you that it doesn't matter, but trust me it does. The regular just doesn't seem to clean quite as well in cold water. Besides removing stains better and causing less shrinkage it is also very energy efficient

Rather you than me.
yes you can, dependes on what type of material it is.
If you like. They shouldn't shrink
depends...
Uh yes lol. I do it all the time. Dark colors are supposed to get cold water while whites should get hot water.
yes you should wash all darks in cold water and all whites in a boil wash but dont miix them together cuz you will die them but washing them in cold water is fine
Yes...there are detergents made for cold wash cycle.
why not? It saves energy. I am not obsessed with having white teeth or white clothes. By the time they turn "grey" they have worn out anyhow. Any stains can be removed with hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice and sunshine. Or just a brush and elbow grease.
You can also wash colors and whites together. (not recommended with brand new blue jeans but...) Throw a large wash cloth in with the clothes and it will pick up the dye from other clothes.
Sure, if you don't mind them still being a bit dirty. I guess with a really strong detergent you'd get most of the dirt out.
Using cold water saves on the energy bill. Tide makes a detergent now that is made especially for this. If you are worried that your white towels will not get clean enough then add 1/2 cup of bleach. Add the bleach, let your washer fill up with water then add your detergent and if you are still worried let it agitate for a few turns then add clothes. I do this with whites and colored towels. They come out smelling cleaner and I can't see a difference in their color.
Sure can 3168.
When riding around Crete on a motorbike, I stopped at a village shop, bought some pellets of washing clothes stuff, put them in pockets, everything on and went for a sea swim.
I ended up in a sort of pool of bubbles.
Shiny new knickers and jeans once laid out on the beach to dry.
Bless you if you are trying to save electrical energy, I suppose that most domestic washing can be done at quite low temperatures, although a gravy stain on my silly dinner shirt needed a goodly high temp whiz !

All the best, use a bit of soda stuff in cold water, and all is well.

Yes you can wash in cold water. There are many brands of cold water detergent on the market and I use them all the time. The only thing I don't wash in cold are my whites I soak those in hot water with oxyclean for a couple hours before washing them.
Of course.
i usually wash coloreds in cold water but whites in hot
Yes you can. However it depends on what type of clothes you wish to wash. There are cold water wash products that you can purchase.
yes you can wash your colored clothes in cold water
Yeah, I do it for everything but whites, sheets, and towels...
A rule of thumb is: if you can wash it, you can wash it in cold. Warm wash is good if clothes are more heavily soiled. Warm rinse is good for permanent press - it helps ease the wrinkles, if that's an issue for you. Hot water is usually only for whites and towels. Even then, it is usually a cold rinse.

Only if the laundering instructions say DO NOT USE COLD WATER would you have to avoid it. I personally have never see a label with that warning.
It depends what kind of detergent you are using. I wash my colours in 40d and my whites in 50d. Ariel washing powder you can use it with 30d.
yes but whites come out better in hot. colored fabrics stay truer to color with cold water
