Any ideas on how to empty the water from a washing machine that blew mid-cycle?
Question:my washing machine stopped working mid-cycle. i took all the clothes out and finished washing/drying them, but now the water is just sitting in there...any easier way to empty it besides something ridiculous, like a cup?

the easiest way is to move the washer away from the wall, possibly to a place where you are not worried about getting water on the floor, while doing this keep the drain hose elevated,do not let it fall to the floor ( water will start to drain and make a mess), then lower the drain hose and the tub will start to drain. you can empty it out in a bucket or put the hose outside a door if possible and the force of gravity will cause the washer tub to drain. good luck
when all else fails, use a cup...it's easy and you don't have to spend money. I got a siphon from a place that sells paint and oil, i.e. stuff for cars..supposed to be used for siphoning gas from a tank.it has a little plastic bottle and a long tube...should work well for your situation.
A Wet/Dry Shop-Vac.
yes, water seeks its own level, so a rubber hose in the washer, and a bucket on the floor, you must suck on the hose to get the water flowing, you will get a little of the water in your mouth,be sure to lower the hose quickly or you'll have to try again! lol
Siphon it out...grab some rubber hose, stick one end in the water, place the other end at a level lower than the water, suck to get the flow started, and put the other end of the hose in the drain or a bucket.
