My shirt is COVERED in lint that won't come off, can someone help?
Question:i put a really expensive shirt in the dryer and it's now COVERED IN LINT, IT WONT COME OFF WITH TAPE, HELP! i've tried the tape method, and i've tried the lint brush and none of it works, the lint is LITERALLY stuck on the shirt.
Answers:
There is the possibility that the lint is actually "pilling" of the shirt fabric itself (short fibers whose ends have come unspun from the threads the shirt is made of), since neither tape or lint brush will remove it.
You may be able to smooth the surface with a fabric shaver (battery powered, sold in notions departments).
Caveat: do not try to use a mustache trimmer; huge risk of damaging fabric (ask how I know)
In future, I would wash the shirt either on "delicate" setting or use a very short cycle, and hang the shirt to dry instead of putting it in the dryer; that should minimize additional lint or fuzzing.
try using white vinegar or lemon juice. anything acidic
Re wash the shirt by itself, then hang dry.
Don't use a lint brush, use a lint roller. Its much better than tape/brush. (Buy one at Target or a grocery store)
Take it to the cleaners and they could go the lint out.
try a vacum to suck the lint off.
You need to re wash the shirt then put it alone in the dryer on knitt or just air.Make sure u put a softner sheet in there too.Good luck...
if the lint roller or a vacuum won't work try a sweater shaver. they're for removing pills on fabric which might be why the lint is so stuck to your shirt. you can get them at target or walmart or something similar.
