Here's my list:
White vinegar
Baking soda
Lemon juice
Club soda
Spot Shot carpet cleaner
Clorox Clean-Up
Hydrogen Peroxide (3% like from the drug store)
Dryelle dry cleaning kit found in the laundry isle, the one that includes spot remover pads.

You can do a lot with these. My favorite tip is using peroxide to remove red koolaid stains from carpet, just saturate and blot up!

Bleech!
bleach, vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, Comet
windex cleaner, Colrax bleach, sponges, paper towels, vacumn, brooms, things like that
A maids phone number.
These are the essentials that I have:
Bathroom: Bleach, toiliette bowl cleaner (I perfer Clorox products b/c they clean and disinfect), disinfectant wipes, Scrubbing bubbles cleaner, and Swiffer Wet Jet

Kitchen: Ivory dish soap (Classic scent in the white bottle, I use this on counter tops and on walls to clean and disenfect), Mr Clean Erasers, Swiffer products

Other/Misc: Pledge, lemon oil, White Vinegar, clean lint free rags, squeegie, broom, scrubbing brushes
dawn-409-green scrubbies-tide-chlorox
Here's my list of favorites, not including the basic equipment like brooms and mops and such:

a sign saying, "I'm not messy, I'm creative" displayed proudly on the door! ;)

Magic eraser...it really works like magic with no cleaning solutions, just water, and gets rid of stuff you thought was permanent

Clorox clean up

Windex brand window cleaner (it does make a difference)

paper towels (throw the dirt away rather then having something else you have to wash like when you use a washcloth)

Pinesol for mopping

a good toilet bowl cleaner, Lysol cling gel is great

a good antibacterial multi purpose spray (when you can't use bleach)..Lysol or Windex brands make good ones.

Pledge orange oil for dusting

Palmolive dish washing liquid, and detergent for dishwasher if you have one

And smell goods are a must, glade scented oil, carpet fresh, air fresheners, and gotta love fabreez
1/2 cup Parson's sudsy amonia
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/8 cup baking soda
1 gallon warm water

Will clean anything, even my walls after my house burned. Cheap, and no rinsing.

1/2 cup Parson's sudsy amonia
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
Mix with water in a spray bottle.

Windows, counter tops, anything where you want a spray cleaner.

The vinegar cuts the amonia smell, the soda is a mild abrasive, never have found anything it scratched.
