How can I get a gas stove top clean?

A Dobie sponge and believe it or not- laundry powder. Mix the laundry soap and water into a paste, put this on the stove top and let sit for a few minutes. Scrub with the sponge, soak up the soap with paper towels and rinse. Laundry soaps cuts greasy skin residue from clothes and cuts grease from just about everything else too. If your grates are dirty, stick them in the dishwasher.

I always used Dawn dish soap, on a cloth, & Windex to clean my gas stovetop. Both are great degreasers.
I use a Mr. clean magic sponge and it works really well and for those tough dried on messes soak with a cleaning product you like for a couple of minutes and then use the sponge
Dollar stores carry a cleaner called Mean Green. I just spray it on there let it set for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a sponge. Cuts through grease like magic. You also need to lift up the top and clean underneath the cooktop.
