How do you unshrink a baseball cap?
Question:I found one of my boyfriends old baseball caps. It was Really dirty, so I decided to wash it. I forgot it was in the washer and threw it in the dryer with the rest of the load. It looks a lot small now. What do I do?
Answers:
submerge the hat in warm water for about 10-15 minutes,
take it out let it drip for about half hour, then get a towel, roll it up in a ball , put the rolled up towel inside the hat and let the towel absorb the water, keep replacing with a dry towel every couple of hours until the hat dries. good luck
i dont think there is a way to unshrink it so you gonna have to buy a new one
it is what it is ,you cant UNSHRINK anything... try stretching it out when wet see if that helps...
Give hat to a kid with a smaller head -- you could also surprise him with a NEW Cap with the same theme or a similar theme. Check eBay for a replacement of a unique type. And, don't fret any further about the cap -- your boyfriend thought little of it himself to get it so dirty so maybe it wasn't that special to him after all.
You could try dampening cap again and stretching it over a rubber kids game ball somewhat the size of an adult head. Is there an EXPANDER band on the back of the hat? See if it can be adjusted bigger; you could sew an additional strip onto it - like another piece of matching velcro to make it longer. But overall, don't sweat the damage. Think of the fun you two will have after you have Apologized for the goof and you two Make up !!
Stick that hat into the sink in some cool water. Wring it out and stretch it over the top of a coffee can (2-3 lb.) and let it dry . It should stretch out a bit.
