To boiling water, add 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 laundry detergent. Mix well. Add coats, and allow to soak until water is cool. Wash normally, adding 1 cup vinegar to the rinse water. It will get rid of any soap residue, and it acts like a fabric softener.
