Lint is killing my clothes. My washer and dryer are 6 months old but they are destroying my clothes. help!!?
Question:Any suggestions? I have already rendered hundreds of dollars worth of clothes useless. FYI - Filter is cleaned on every drying.

We went thru a similar problem. The service tech informed me that most new washers don't have any lint traps. The best thing to do is run the cotton setting (gentler) and use warm/warm water setting. Apparently cold water and higher agitation increases the lint in the wash cycle and allows it to attach to your clothes. Since we have been doing this the lint problem is significantly reduced to an exceptable level. It has actually made things like hankies usable again. Took maybe 2 months to see improvement.
Bet you have a front loader. Same thing happens here.
some fabric softener sheets added to the clothing in the dryer can cause this when they react with some fabrics
Gentle cycles on washer & dryer, & make sure you keep the lint trap clear.
One more thing you might try is to be sure the dryer vent and hose is not partially clogged. If the airflow is restricted, maybe the lint isn't all getting carried to the trap.
