Whirlepool Washing machine will not complete cycle ?
Question:We have a Whirlepool Washing machine / Special Edition / 2 Speed Motor / Heavy Duty / extra Large Capacity .
Age unknown ?
It will not complete cycle.
But will do fine in the actual washing cycle, but will not go in to the Rinse & spin cycle ?
Is there a simple fix ?
What could the problem be ?
Thank You.
Debby.

It is most likely the timer. I have had 4 Whirlpool, or Whirlpool made machines. they all have had timer issues - one was exactly that.
Call Whirlpool Repair and find out from them
you probably need a new timer...try an appliance parts store..
My guess would be in your knob. Can you start it at the rinse cycle with the knob or do you have push buttons.
To continue past the rinse cycle, it usually must be able to fill with COLD water, make sure your cold water is turned on. Also make sure the screen in the fill hose isn't clogged. To check this, disconnect the fill hose from the washer and turn it on into a bucket. If you get a full stream of water, next check the screen located inside the fill valve (the part that sticks out of your machine that you just disconnected the hose from) and look for a screen. Take a small screwdriver and remove this screen, clean it under a faucet. Replace and try again.
Also check the drain hose to make sure it is pulled far enough from the drain line (standpipe) to prevent siphoning. It must be high enough so that the end of the drain hose is not submerged in water. That would cause it not to continue past the rinse cycle especially if permanent press is selected.
