What is the best laundry detergent and laundry products?

Question:I need to know everyone's opinion on some of the things best to use for stain removal as well as a general laundry detergent that removes stains and smells great. Any parents with young children, I appreciate your input especially because that's my main source of stains. Thanks! :)

i read the others remarks, and remembered what i used the most when my kids were small, i used to be a vacuum cleaner mechanic and we were always getting greasy and dirty from working on them, and we used 409 full strength to clean them up so i started using it on the stains on the clothes, it worked great, it breaks down the grease / stains so they come clean easily, one weekend we forgot and left the coffee pot on with about a half a pot of coffee in it, when we came back we smelled burned coffee and it had dried up all the water in the glass pot, and i had started to try and scrub it out with one of those ScotchBright -green scrubbing pads, then i thought about how good the 409 worked on so much other stuff, i though i wonder, so i tried it, it practically melted that burned in coffee, i just sprayed it in there and swished it around some and you could actually watch it coming off, then rinsed well and it was spotless, so i started using it for all kinds of cleaning stains, it is the best i have ever seen or used, and its not like bleach where it destroys the material or discolors it, its great! !

http://www.formula409.com/

thats the link for the company, but you can find 409 in just about any store,

hope this helps, i know it worked wonders for me!

p.s. haha i forgot part of your question was the best laundry soap, well it depends on if you have allergies or your family has allergies, tide is good, but the last few years i have used Sun, i get it at the family dollar stores, because my allergies have gotten to where i can't stand products that have perfumes in them, and for dishes i use Dawn and its also great for cleaning spots / grease,,, etc,
but whatever you wind up using , at least get one bottle of the 409 and try it, i know you wont be sorry.

Folex carpet cleaner is the most wonderful stain remover I have ever found. Being a mom of four kids...all athletic...It doesn't really have much smell...But it WILL remove stains! I learned about it from an old man who had 50+ years in the carpet business and discovered the wonders of it in the laundry room...The only place I know to buy it is Home Depot...though I am sure other places must carry it.Kiss those stains goodbye!
Tide with bleach mixed with oxyclean for stains. (pre-treat with oxyclean on the stains for at least an hour)

Woolite for more vulnerable fabrics.
I have found with the ACD that I have with cleaning and things have to sparkle and clothes have to smell and be clean, I believe that Purex with color safe bleach is the best. I even use it on my work clothes. I work in a corporate office with business suites and always finding a way to save a dime and not using "dry cleaners" is one of them. I can wash my work clothes in this with a cold setting and hang to dry and they are like new and smell wonderful. Palmolive with oxy I have found to be the best for the kitchen and believe it or not the CAR! it leave a shine you cannot imagine! My Husband uses it on his Rig! No film and it does wonders for the those pots and pans and stove eyes with out a lot of elbow grease.
I swear by Tide! I love the Tide w/ Febreeze because I have a very sensitive nose and it completly removes the foreign odors my family comes home with, as for the stains i also use Tide, I just use a small amount of the liquid tide on the spot and let it sit a minute or two then rub gently and then put in the wash cycle, always check the spot before you put in the dryer because you still have a chance to get it out until the dryer sets it in.
ERA works good on stains you can use it by itself or just as a pretreat my mom has used it for years can be bought at your local walmart
Shout is the best at removing stains.
Snuggle or febreeze is the best fabric softner, dryer sheets.
I like Purex and Tide as liquid soap.
tide with bleach,oxi-clean and and bounce with febreeze
