As a homeschooling mom often the house comes last. Plus I'm lazy! lol
When I do clean I get my kids to help so if you have the for you are already starting right. They need to learn when they are young. But sometimes it is easier to clean without the kids around. lol
I always start at the door. I put on some good music, get a garbage bag and sit myself down on the floor. I focus only on the area in front of me. I pick up all the garbage and stuff that needs to be thrown away in the trash bag. Stuff I want to give away or go down into the basement go into another bag/box/ or spot outside the room. Next if there is stuff that belongs in the room but doesn't belong where it is found I just try to shove it in front of me. lol When you get older even at 31 it is harder to get up & you waste time running all over the house. So once you are done stay down, do the work around you and scoot forward. lol Work your way around the room.
The key is don't be running all around the house while cleaning out or cleaning a room. I find that wastes time. I tell my kids when they help me NOT TO LEAVE THE ROOM unless their arms are full of stuff.
Other things my kids and I do is first pick up all the trash in the room, next all the clothes, next all the books, next all the toys & so on. This way you focus on just one item to pick up instead of looking at big messy room. It helps by breaking it down.
My husband will crack up if I win the best answer here. lol I am an awful housekeeper plus with my health I have bad days & good days so the house can get into an awful shape during those bad days. lol
Keep it up on a daily basis so that just doing the bed and the floor the room will look orderly.
Shove everything in the closet and lock the door. Quick sweep and dust and make the bed.
TAKE YOUR TIME, The first time u clean it right then keep it up on a daily basis. Ist. do the bed . put away all books etc in the right place dust all your furniture and wax it, take out ALL the trash. vac. or wash the floors, depending on the floor, wash any mirrors etc. and keep it up, Good luck

i just put stuff where it belongs and if i don't know where it belongs i put it in a random drawer. make the bed too.
I always..
1. throw out all trash
2. grab all laundry and put in basket
3. books, papers you need go in a box next to the wall
4. make bed
5. vaccume
if u dont have much time, just tidy up!
Make the bed. pick up any clean clothes that you want to keep and put them on the bed, or right into the give away box, then put any dirty clothes in hamper and set it outside your room. Get 3 boxes(or bags) --throw away, give away, and put away. Start at the door and work from there to the left or right and then keep going in the same direction. Pick up the first thing in front of you. Does it go in one of the boxes? If it goes somewhere else in the house put it outside your door-DO NOT LEAVE THE ROOM. Make sure you don't just move something to the other side of the room put it in the proper box or proper place.Working from top to bottom as you work in a circle around the room -make sure all surfaces get emptied as you go.-nothing should have a permanent home on the floor except furniture. This should only take a few minutes. Put on fast music- you are just quickly going through the room and doing a quick sort. Now hopefully you have filled up your give away box- get that out of the room too. Put the throw away box into your doorway in case you get tempted to leave it reminds you to stay and keep going. Now the put away is only for the stuff that belongs in your room remember anything that went into the other room was set outside your door. Now put the things in the put away box AWAY. (in their proper home-if it doesn't have one make a place where it belongs) when the box is empty put it outside your room. Now all that should be left is putting your clothes away-Hopefully you included your closet and dresser as part of the sorting- If not the same system applies- Take the time to put your clothes away properly and your room should be done. Now go clean outside your room. Throw away the garbage, put away the other things, And wash your clothes. Keep it simple.
