Help! Styrofoam melted in microwave?

Question:I accidentally heated a 14oz styrofoam cup in my microwave for 3 minutes. I removed the cup and threw it away, but there's still a horrendous smell all over my kitchen and in my microwave. How can I go about cleaning this smell? Is it dangerous to go in my kitchen now?

Place a bowl of sliced lemons in your microwave and cook for 3 minutes. The aroma of lemons may take it out. If not, place a bowl of white vinegar in and turn on for 3 minutes, the smell will evaporate, and you can redo this several times until the odors are completely gone.
