Why do guys always leave their laundry in front of the hamper instead of putting it in the hamper?
Question:There are four men in my house, two sons (20 & 21) husband and father in law, 4 yr old granddaughter and myself. My granddaughter puts her clothes in, i put my clothes in, but..no one else..unless of course I have them dumped on the floor and separated ready to be washed. Then of course they put them in then. What is up with that? Is it a mind game? Are they doing it purpose? Does this happen to anyone else?

BOY CAN I RELATE!!! MY SON DOES THAT EVERYTINE HE SHOWERS. I'VE TAKEN TO PICKING IT UP AND THROWING IT IN HIS ROOM AND CLOSING THE DOOR. WOULD YOU BELIEVE HE HAS THE NERVE TO SAY "GOOD GOING MOM, I ALMOST TRIPPED ON IT!" I TELL HIM ALL THE TIME THAT HIS PROSPECTIVE WIFE IS SURELY GOING TO HEAR ABOUT THIS BEFORE THEY TIE THE KNOT.
some guys are just really lazy to put there clothes up.
Because men have an inherent aversion (I think it's genetic) to laundry hampers and toilet tissue holders...they can't manipulate those, either, lol.
I'm just kidding, of course, but if you pick up the clothes and put them in front of their bedroom door, they'll get the hint real quick like.
I gace you a star. If you figure it out let me know.
It is not just guys. My husband complains about this as well as my leaving trash 3 feet away from the garbage can. I can't help it, I get distracted a lot.
They don't have logical thinking like women do.
The same reason they don't change the toilet roll. They're men!
Some guys do this untill you rant and rave about it till they never want to listen to you any more about it. My husband doesn't do this but my son does. I tell ALL my three kids that if the clothes arn't in the clothes hamper that I gave them to use then I won't clean the clothes. This does seem to work.
This question is easy. Guys have a need (or compulsion) to shoot things like a basketball towards any basket. Unfortunately the skills often are not there, as well as balled up clothes being hard to throw accurately. Then comes the laziness, once thrown the clothes completly leave the thoughts of the male. Thus clothes on the floor.
Yes, its a mind game. They are saying "you don't tell me what to do, just wash my clothes." Get the four men together & tell them that they are to put clothes in the hamper, its not hard since a 4 year old can do it. You've probably told them beforek, but this time add "or I'm not washing them and I mean it - if you can't put them where they belong, you can do the laundry yourselves". Then do it. Leave the clothes on the floor forever if you must - eventually when they have nothing to wear, they will either put them in the hamper or they willdo the laundry themselves.P.S Why are you doing all the laundry anyway? You don't wear the clothes, why are you responsible for washing them? Teach everyone how & let them do their own. Ann Landers use to say you can't be a door mat unless you lay down & let someone walk on you & it was good advice.
It is because we have let them get away with it all these years, so they think they can continue. There are a lot of men that do it, but not all of them.
Not all men do. We have a system in our house that I put in ..I'm a guy. There are only 2 of us (both men) and that makes things a little easier. I think it has to do with how mothers raise their sons and daughters. If mom always picks up after, then the boys (and girls) will never learn. In our house, as a kid, if it wasn't in the hamper, it didn't get washed, or you did it yourself. It worked.and still does!
Uma...why I outta..
Although I am not perfect I do ALWAYS put my dirty clothes in the hamper in my room or the one in the bathroom, NEVER in front of it.
My wife calls the the ARFOD (anal retentive freak of nature) because I am a little tidy around the house...you know, little things like shoes lined up in the closet, clothes hung up based on style, color, and type (i.e. casual, dress, etc).
I also do the laundry because everybody in the house folds the clothes wrong...UGGGH, why cant they get it right. It is simple.
And for those of you wondering, yes I do face the canned goods in the cupboard.
Guess it's our way of making you feel wanted.
