How do you get gum out of clothes?
Question:My idiot little brother left and ENTIRE pack of gum in his shorts pockets and they were run through the wash and the dryer. The dryer is now coated in gum and it's all over the load of clothing. How can I get the gum out of the clothes?
Answers:
Try chewing it out...
wet clothing, put salt on area where gum is and then rub with ice (you may want to put gloves as it can get cold on hands).god luck, I think it should work
not fun! sorry for your mishap!
my mom use to run a laundry mat!
get some ICE and freeze it off rub it on at least to get the most of it off!
then try to use some sort of oxy clean type stuff! and try proxcide you would be amazed at what a dab of that stuff will do!
but use that AFTER you freeze it off! and test an area to ensure it will not discolor your clothing!
rub an ice cube across the gum until it gets cold and stiff then peel the gum off
Hello Kay. The best way to do this is to first freeze the gum off. Put ice cubes in a bag and rub over the clothes, or pop them in the freezer, might be quicker. BUT 100% once the gum has been removed you will be left with a dull stain, so to rid the stain this is what to do. Sound´s silly but it work´s. Whip up 1or 2 egg whites, lay over the gum stain & leave like this for 10 min´s. then wash the clothes on their normal wash cycle, this will remove the left over stains
best bet is to throw the clothes in the freezer. once they are frozen, you can try to pull the gum out.
if that doesnt work, you could try googone.
Try rubbing some peanut butter on a spot where the clothing has stuck to the clothing. Then use a butter knife & scrape it off. Peanut butter can do it's magic but since the clothing went through the clothing, it may be too late. As for your dryer, use an amonia cleaner on a rag or spray Windex or another brand of window cleaner & that should do the trick. I have had that happen to me too, so I hope it all works out for you.
