Question about laundry?
Question:Whenever I do my laundry, I tend to forget to put them in the dryer right away. How long can laundry stay in the washer before they start to smell sour? Does this ruin my clothes?
Answers:
It depends on the climate where you live and the time of year. I'm in Texas and in the summer the wash will sour in less than a day. If it sours, do another rinse or if its bad you'll have to wash all over again. Try setting a kitchen timer to remind **you** to reboot the laundry. :0)
It would be best if you tried to remember to put them in the dryer right away - or if not right away - within an hour or two from when the washer cycle stopped. Once you leave them in there, they start to mildew and smell and you'll have to wash them again.
`90 minutes my sister and I tried this at home. It's a shorter time if you did not add fabric softener.
It really depends on the water you used and how well the washer and detergent did cleaning them. At our house we have a well. 2 days max before ''things start to sour''!
I put my clothes in the washer before I go to bed then when I get up in the morning I put them in the dryer.
Overnight would be ok. Any longer and you'd need to put them through the rinse cycle again.
It totally depends on the heat and humidity in your home. summertime is the worst for this!
hotter it is the sooner they will start smelling that smell gets in let it go threw a wash cycle and a just a little lysol if that don't work you will be a stinker
