Colorful rug stained the cream carpet beneath it!!? Help!?
Question:If there is anyone out there who has had a similar experience, I would love to hear your advice!
I have a large area rug with bright blues, pinks, etc . . . over my beige carpet. When I removed the rug, I saw that there are very faintly colors striped on my carpet. How can I get rid of this?! Thanks! Please answer if you have had success with anything similiar!

You are going to have to shampoo your carpet with a really good stain remover. I suggest using yellow ammonia. Make a mixture of 3 parts water and 1 parts ammonia, put it into a spray bottle, and spray everywhere there is a stain. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, then go over it with a steam cleaner. But do not put a lot of water of the carpet with the steam cleaner, you will dilute the ammonia. You mainly just want the brush to scrub and pick up. This should work. If not, repeat, but brush by hand, without the steam cleaner. Once you can tell the stains are gone, I would go back over my carpet with a fresh smelling carpet cleaner, to remove all traces of ammonia and dye.
