How do you get the line off of the toilet bowl?
Question:We have tried bleach, cleaner, coke and many other things, and the line just won't come off. Please tell me some home remedies for removing the line.
Answers:
they sell these pumice blocks...because of the hardwater you will have to put some gloves on and scrape...I keep one in each bathroom...once a month I go in and touch up...these are THE BEST THING ever invented! lol
hmm if you tried everything, the bowl just might be old and permanently dirty. Try soaking soft scrub on it!
scrub hard
If bleach won't take it off, I don't think anything will. Like the person above me said, just scrub hard!
If I were you, I would try using some water-resistant white paint. But that's just my suggestion. It has come to my attention that people don't generally listen to me or offer any consideration as to my opinion.
Get a new toilet.
The best thing I have ever used is called 'The Works' and is sold at Wal-Mart for like 2 or 3 dollars.
if it isnt etched into the bowl, u might try csr u can get it at any hardware store
get a pumice stone and scrubb
Pumice can also be used on grills/ovens ect..
should have them in the cleaning isle near bottom or a hardware store would have one as well.
Or try the beauty isle around foot care
whats a line?
Buy a can of ZUD cleanser, sprinkle some into the toilet, brush it around, let it set a little while, then brush again & flush. Repeat if necessary.
vinegar..and oven cleaner crystals..
try this toilet cleaning product SnoBowl, (not sure of spelling) it works wonders and some people even use it to clean their boats. it's heavy duty stuff so it should work.
go to the hardware store.ask for 3m cloth...its used put grain back in stainless steel and will work wonders in your toilet plus, a new clean piece will also polish up the bottoms of nasty cooking pots and pans...cant scrub really hard with it but a steady motion with gentle pressure will take the stain out....good luck
Try Lime Away. It's sold next to toilet bowl cleaners in the supermarket. I used this once and it softened the ring. I then took a screwdriver and gently scraped it off. If that doesn't work, I've heard of using a pumice stone.
Get the commercial toilet cleaner that is acid, don't use on other fixtures though, it will ruin them if they are not china.
Use a pumie...you can buy it at the store
A pumice stone is very cheap and available at most stores who carry cleaning products. It's Grey and porous. Just scrub a dub and it should do the tricky. The abrasive qualities scratch of ick without damaging porcelain.
I've always used Ajax powdered cleanser. It has bleach in it, and the powder itself is abrasive, so it should help to polish away the line as you scrub with a brush.
Also, depending on what kind of 'line' it is, you might try CLR (Calcium Lime and Rust). It's a cleaner that comes in a bright green bottle, and it dissolves minerals that make build up from exposure to tap water.
OK, here is what to use if nothing else works! Get a gallon of muriatic acid (sold at most hardware stores of pool supply stores) and pour about 8-10 OZ into the bowl, clean with toilet brush. If this will not clean it, it is permanently etched and you will have to replace to get rid of it.
