Do cotton garments shrink in the dryer?
Question:
Answers:
Yes, even if they are preshrunk, they do shrink a little more.
The best way to dry them would be to smooth out most of the wrinkles and hang them up, Preferably outside on a windy day. (not so windy they blow away though)
The cotton clothes will wrinkle less like this too.
they will.
You betcha they do shrink in the dryer!!!
Yes...and will shrink even more if washed in hot water!!
yes ..never dry in dryer always hang to dry and press
Yes; use the lowest heat setting possible, for the shortest time.
Yes, they will shrink. Cotton expands a lot when wet. Then, when you remove that moisture, the cotton retracts greatly as well and causes shrinkage. The good thing is that cotton has excellent elongation. With normal wear, cotton items stretch a little. Something that comes out of the dryer feeling like it shrunk a little, usually feels fine once you wear it for a few minutes.
