Has anyone ever tried the Roomba?

Question:The Roomba that vacuums the floors. I guess there is also one that scrubs the floors for you. Has anyone ever tried it? Whats your rating for either on a scale from 1 to 10?

It picks up cat hair - and I have 2 cats. So I can use it on a regular basis to tackle the constant cat hair problem. You just have to empty the container more often when you have cats.
Also it gets into the corners and under all of the chairs that I missed with the big vac - and it goes back to the base when it's finished.

I can set it to work and walk out the door. If it gets stuck on my small carpets by the doors, it turns itself off.
I can't do that with any other vac. Amazing.
It was worth the price.

GOD bless us always.

Yes, we had one of the first. Unfortunately, ours was very old, but nice Hardwood Floor, which was no longer perfectly level (one of it's charms as the individual boards each had their own sway of crest, small but clearly not a smooth surface. The little machine valiantly attempted to do it's job but was hopelessly lost and misdirected by each irregularity it encountered - I gave it to a friend with a new laminate flooring in place - he loves it.
their great in my book. ibought the first model four years ago, gave them the number off the back an got a discount on a newer model. goes from carpet to tile with no problem. barefoot clean. i give it a nine only because you still have to clean an empty.
I have a Roomba Discovery that I loved until it just died. We can't figure out what's wrong with it, and even with the extended warranty we purchased from Best Buy, it's gonna cost almost as much to have it fixed as what we paid for it. Unfortunately I can't afford to fix it or buy another right now, but I really loved it! I'd set it to vacuum one room while I dusted another and I'd have it vacuum my kitchen before I mopped it. It really save me a bunch of time. I'd just turn it on and leave the house sometimes. When it was done, it went back to its docking station to recharge and I'd come home to clean floors.
consumer test magazine CHOICE tested the roomba and found that it only picked up just "14 grams of the 100 grams" of dust in their test.

sounds like a gimick to me.
Love my Roomba, but the dog isn't crazy about it. I have to put her out when it's running. I'd rate it a high 9. Two of my sister-in-laws also have them, and they spoke so highly of it that they persuaded me to get one.
