There is this special spray that you can buy a stores, that where ever you spray it, your pets wont go.

MY old cat used to jump on the table. We bought a plastic spray bottle and filled it with water. We sprayed her whenever she jumped up, and she eventually learned that jumping on the table = getting wet. So she stopped.
I know people get upset about this, but I suggest declawing. Best thing we ever did for our shredder.
Keep a water spray bottle and squirt your cats every time they get on the sofa. They will learn.
give them more things to do...like have some toys fro them to play with then they will be busy! thats how i deal with my cat!
if it does almost no harm to your couches, lemon and orange scented fragrances will repel the kitties because cats hate these smells. you can get them at almost every store you go to. just get some non-toxic orange or lemon scented perfumes or fragrances. just spray it on the couch and... VIOLA! i dont think it'll kill or harm the little kitties.
Go to your local sporting goods store and pick up a box of ammo and a small 45 caliber pistol. The next time the cat gets up there just take aim and fire a couple of rounds at the cat. Be careful it could kill, I would just aim to injur.
Declaw them...
I keep a spray bottle of water.. and as soon as they climb or are about to climb leather I spray the cat...
believe it or not they might try a few more times but they get the picture...
My daughter has a cat and I keep a small spray bottle of water in the frige for when the cat gets on the kitchen counters.
