Can someone please help me figure out why the dryer is not puting any heat out to dry my clothing?

Question:i have to dryers in my home. I live with two roomates and we are women so this sort of stuff does not come naturally to us. We have tried hooking up both of the dryers and neither will give out any heat what so ever. If someone out there has any suggestions we would greatly appriciate it. Please help us we need clothes for tomorrow. Thanks for the help. :]

If it is still tumbling but not getting hot the dryer needs a new element in it. Bit like a radiator heater element only specially made for clothes dryers. You need a repair man

the exhaust is probably clogged. Pull the dryer out and disconnect the largest hose coming of the back going to the exhaust vent. Check to see if the dryer will put out heat with the heat exhasut disconnected. If it will not put out heat, you need to find a way to clear the lint from the hose.
I had this happen once. Dryers draw a lot of electricity. I called the repairman for exactly the same problem. Turns out I had a blown fuse. In my house, the dryer was hooked up to 2 different breakers, and only 1 of them was blown. The machine got enough juice to spin, but not enough to heat.

If that's not the problem, the the heating element is the culprit. Hope its the fuse--cause that's a lot cheaper.

BTW, knowledge about how things work doesn't come naturally to either sex--you just have to learn it!
If it is an electric dryer (i.e. not gas fired), you likely have burned out the electrical element.
Does your stove work..the oven part? This sounds dumb but it happened to our house last year. Clothes dryers (and ovens) use 220 power. Most stuff uses 110. That is why the place you plug in the dryer looks different. Anyway since they both won't work, your fuse box may only be allowing 110. If the oven gets hot (not the burners, the oven part) it isn't that. If it doesn't, call an electrician tomorrow and get it fixed. It ain't cheap. Good luck
Dryers need air circulation to dry clothes. Without the hot air circulating your clothes will not get dry. If the drier is spinning but the clothes are not drying, make sure the lint filter is not clogged. Make sure the lint vent and tube (coming out of the back of the dryer) are not clogged.

If the air circulation is not clogged it's probably the heating element. You'll need a service call to get that replaced.
Arte both machines off the same line. i.e. can you operate both at the same time. I expect not and the reason your heat is not on even though your motor runs may be only one half of the breaker is faulted off ( probably doesn't have a tie bar tha makes both go if there is a fault). Your heaters use both sides (both breakers) of the 220 Volts but your motor only uses one (in this case the one not faulted). Be sure to check to see that breakers do have a tie bar. It is neccessary by code for safety.
Not to state the obvious, but is the lint trap empty?
Cause if it's jammed full of lint, your clothes won't dry (and your house can catch on fire.)
For right now, it's best to hang them and let them air dry overnight. If the dryer, when plugged in and turned on, runds, the inside spins to dry, but no heat, may be a thermostat in the dryer. Sounds like you may need a repairman to come take a look at it. Take care.
