How can I get a small ink stain out of 100% cotton.?

Question:I am at work right now, so I cannot wash it until later. I just need to know what I could treat it with right now so that it won't set in. Thanks!

Answers:
I have always used hairspray. You could also just use some rubbing alcohol since that is the ingredient in hairspray that helps to get the ink out.

alchohol
I have always used hairspray - but you guys are right, alcohol will probably work. I have even used hairspray on a leather couch to get ink off when our expensive leather cleaner didnt!!
Becarful with alchol on your carpet. it may cause the backing to seperated from the carpet fiber.

Work on removing the stain as soon as you discover it. Dried ink is especially difficult to get out, unless you act quickly.

Blot the stain with a soft dry cloth or cotton ball.

Moisten another cloth and clean lightly with circular movements. Dry the surface with a soft cloth.

Try a little saddle soap or another leather cleaner, but first read the label regarding its safety for use on your particular kind of leather. You may also try removing the stain with lukewarm water and shampoo.

Contact the manufacturer for a remedy for the type of ink used - the company may sell its own solvent.
