I washed my shoes and now they smell damp and mouldy?
Question:They are trainers and they don't smell bad from feet, but from probably not letting them dry properly before I put them away. Should I just chuck them in the washing machine again?
Answers:
put baking soda in them make sure put allot and shake it around let them sit over night preferably outside and in the morning or when your going to wear them again shake the excess out and put them on you can do it repeatedly if you 'd like. it worked for me!
Yes, wash them again but rather than leaving them to air dry, you need to dry them in the dryer, a lot of dryers come with the dryer rack now so if you have that use it so they wont tumble, if not, break out the blow dryer haha.
toss them in the washer, then put them in a pillowcase with some socks and put them in the dryer on fluff for an hour, then set them out in the sun until they're completely dry.
you should wash it using and powder soap and a brush(old toothbrush will do). Brush your shoes inside and outside with soap and water then wash it properly after removing the soap from the shoe. Dissolved a baking soda in a 1 liter of water then use it for washing your shoes.
yepp then use hair hair dryer so they dry quicker and wont smell bad hair dryer on hot heat
Wash again & hang on the line in the sunshine to dry.
I just washed my New Balance trainers and put a little bleach in with them. They turned out great... just set them on the dryer and let them dry while the other clothes are drying or set them in the sun..(If we ever see the sun...I am in Southern California, Coronado and I can't stand it because we haven't had sun for days).Take the laces and open them as far as possible... you don't need to take the laces out, just open them up as much as possible.. .. or put them in the dryer... I have done that, too but it does make a lot of clunking while they are drying, put a few wet towels in with them so they don't clunk so much... But you need to wash them again and put them in a place where the air really circulates... do you have a patio or the windowsill? Just don't put them in the closet.
It`s probably because they`re still wet, I suggest you put them in the dryer longer :]
Try to wash them again then put them under the sun to dry properly and you can (now) buy a spray for shoes against bad odour, it might help.
