How do I get rid of stinky pits?
Question:Does anyone know of any good home remedies for treating smelly/stained/solid armpits on shirts and t shirts?
Answers:
Don't use antiperspirants just deodorant. The chemical that's use leaves a yellowish stain, this is the stuff that's hard to remove because it is a glue based material and glue in clothes is bad.
The glue really used to seal your sweat glands so you don't perspire which is your body's natural reaction to being hot... So doing something un-natural will result in long term health problems and lots of under arm stained clothing...
I don't use either when I can help it, I have found that regular bathing negates the need for smellies and my clothes have no ugly underarm stains.
Don't believe for one second its your pits, its the gunk you stuff under your pits that's staining, sweat doesn't stain! it is mainly water, as you know, water doesn't stain unless contaminated.
malted vinegar or bicarbonate soda both work as good as eachother
dump him
Throw them away and but new ones..
you put the shirt in the washing machine and some soap and your off!
use vanish it works a treat
brick acid.!
Try to use men's deodorant. Both gillette and right guard work (not the gel kinds, the solids). Applying rubbing alcohol, rubbing it in well, and letting it dry completely before applying deodorant works well, too (as has been said). You don't need to overhaul your diet, as if it was your diet, your sweat in general will smell funky, not just under your arms. Hmm.. can't think of anything else, switching to mens deodorant, and using rubbing alcohol has worked for friends. Also, removing any under arm hair may work, as it tends to trap bacteria.
Erm. a trip to the shopping centre to buy some new clothes wouldn't go a miss!
Add about 1/2 cup of ammonia to the wash. Be sure not to use bleach and ammonia together - very dangerous! Ammonia is an excellent cleaner of all protein based stains.
Good Luck!

I've had some luck using a paste of ammonia & baking soda...I put some ammonia and water in a spray bottle (about 1/2 and 1/2 mixture), spray the pits, apply the baking soda and rub it in, then spray a little more ammonia mixture on it. Let it sit for a few hours or overnight and the stains should come right out. You can even smear some regular detergent over the stain along with the paste mixture. Ammonia works great on protein stains, as the other answerer said.
