All clad pots and pans?
Question:does anyone have tips or hints to getting burn marks off of all clad metal cookware. and also help in removing scratches from the cookware?
Answers:
Make a paste of Barkeepers Friend and water apply to the marks and let sit for about a half hour, then lightly scrub. Scratches are another matter. You could try car polish and a buffer, this should help on surface scuffs. If the scratches have actually broken the surface of the stainless there is little you can do short of sanding them to remove the burrs. Hope this helps.
Are the burn marks inside? If not just ignore them. If you are trying to remove burn marks inside and diminish the appearance of scratchs then use stainless steel cleaner or silver polish. Just a reminder that you are still going to have to work really hard to get them off. I had scorch marks and they took about 25 minutes to get out. As a preventative measure, stop using metal utensils in your cookware. Use plastic or silicone to avoid more scratches. Also because AllClad is very easy to heat up and is very even heat you don't need to use such high temps to cook. This will help you keep from burning things as well.
I have burned many an ALL-clad pot when I first started using them. After a while, I started to lower the stove flame, since the evenness of All Clad's conducting properties make using a high flame destructive. Cameo makes a product for stainless steel, which is what the top layer of All Clad is made of. I suggest putting some on a sponge that also has a side with a pad that is a safe scrubber. Put it on the safe scrubber side, and do not wet the pan. Scrub for a few minutes, lots of elbow grease, then wash with hot water and dish detergent. Abra cadabra, the burn marks are all gone.
