Candlewax stain?
Question:i have a faux suede jacket made of nylon that has a stain from melted candlewax. what's the best way to get rid of it?
Answers:
I know this works with carpet and tablecloths, so I guess I don't see why it wouldn't work with your jacket:
- Heat your iron to a warm setting, not too hot because you don't want to melt your jacket.
- Grab a roll of paper towels, you'll need quite a few.
- Take a piece of paper towel, and fold it over once or twice, and place it over the stain on your jacket, and place the warm iron over the top. Keep it on for 10 or 15 seconds until you see the melted wax come through on the paper towel.
- Repeat this process until you've drawn all the wax out of your garment.
- Remember to remove any wax residue from the bottom of the iron once you're done so you don't transfer it onto your clothes the next time you do a batch of ironing!
You can use suede cleaner--I know that you can put a cloth on some things and then put a hot stem iron on the cloth, but it might damage it--so I would call a leather shoppe and ask this question to them--since it is oil based (candlewax) you may want to call the leather store and ask or you could ask Heloise--shoould be able to find her ono the internet someplace.
She is an expert on matters such as this!
way to go Red Hair...I was gonna say the same thing but replace the paper towels with wax paper/iron paper
