New white sheets with red trim--the red has bled!?

Question:Hello,

I just washed a new set of white sheets, with a 3-inch red trimmed border. I washed them in cold, but of course the red has bled all over the sheets. They are still in the washer--is there a way to fix this (i.e. remove the bleed)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Color Bleeding Stain Removal
To remove stains caused from dyes leeching from one article of clothing to another, you can purchase a product that is designed specifically for this purpose. It is called Rit Dye Fabric Treatment - Powder Color Remover and is available everywhere that you can buy fabric dyes. Soak in the color remover, then launder as usual. Good Luck! =)

Unfortunately for you, there isn't a way to remove the red bleed without it bleeding again. Your sheets are pretty much ruined... sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Should you ever need to wash something like this again, put half a cup of salt in the water when washing to eliminate the bleeding of red dye onto white material.
