Which detergent works best to keep white clothes WHITE?
Question:I have used several different ones but they leave it looking off white.
I dont use Clorox, allergic to it.
Answers:
I use Aerial , washing powder, but I also use the good old fashioned soap bar, soap. For those hard to remove stains and dirt , I soak the garment in cold water, rub the sop into the clothes, Leave the garment free from water with the soap on, say 1/2 hr, lets the soap do it´s work, then rinse, rub in more soap& pop straight into a normal wash. But really the sun will do the rest of the work for you , the sun will bleach your clothes whiter than white, and bleach most stains out , the natural way. So wait for a nice hot sunny day, do all your whites & hang them outside in the sun
I am sorry you don't use Clorox because it is the best for whitening clothes. Or, you can use bleach. I am not sure.
try yellow out. hope this helps! :)
try that stuff advertised on TV, Oxygen something or other
could it be the water that is staining or dimming the clothes??
I find that washing my whites on cold and drying them on low helps maintain their brightness. Also. if you let them soak for a while in the washer. Make sure your white load truly is only whites. The detergent that I use is called Charlies Soap. I have to order it online, but it really works well for me.
Good Luck with your wash. There really is nothing worse than dingy whites.
They have the clorox detergent that is supposed to keep whites white..or you can just use any laundry detergant and add bleach in also.
I have well water and it causes my whites to become off-white no matter which detergent I use. Untill city water come through, I just avoid buying white as much as possible. But there are 'blueing' agents out there but I just don't know about them.
Tide
Try a detergent with a bleach alternative. White clothes are always going to take more care. You will need to check for spots and pretreat them. Collars that are dirty respond well to hand soap or shampoo. Other spots on clothes often only need to be dampened and some of the detergent rubbed onto it and then simply throw into the machine. Avoid washing colored or dark clothes with your whites. Good luck.
Oxy Clean in hot water
i like to use tide with the bleach alternative and add a scoop of clorox bleach for colors, or a cup of clorox bleach for whites. don't use the off brand bleach, it won't make your whites as white as the clorox
Try adding Oxy-Clean to the wash. It is not a bleach. Oxy-Clean is an optical brightener and causes fabrics to reflect more light. When the fabric reflects more light it appears whiter and brighter.
have you tried 20 Muleteam Borax? I use liquid Era and the Borax. Whites are white and colors are bright.
