I have this same problem. I have used a pro I have used all the "tricks" I have used all the newest chemicals that are available on the market including special orders. The only thing that helps is dry cleanig supplies ( I think because it doesnt wet down the stuff it doesnt remove so that part doesnt stink) Also for temorary relief fabreeze works well to seal the odor. You have gotten rid of the problem causer but if someone out there still has there problem see your vet. They can give you drugs for the cat that helps 99.9% It runs about 30 bucks a month. I did it for a few months and the hairball is much much better. otherwize you can burn the item and shoot the cat. That seems to work. However good or bad it is pretty final.
That should make PETA happy. Im sure to get letters for that one. They just "piss" you off so much for so long Some solutions just come to your head before you come to a proper solution. I dont recomend killing any animal, rather properly drug it with your vets help.
have it professionally cleaned. Hopefully they would have the chemicals to neutralize the oder. BUT the urine ihas seeped into the chairs stuffing and would probably be hard to get completely rid of. I would pitch the chair and buy a new one.
You need an animal urine remover. You have a broad choice at Walmart or any pet store and can even buy ones that are cat specific (but it doesn't actually matter). I think I bought something called Urine Off (really). The products contain enzymes which actually break down the urine and will get rid of that smell. Just using common water and soap won't do it- no matter how many times you steam clean it. Good luck!
Some of the cleaning agents have an enzyme in them that destroys such odors even if it is old. Those can be found in the pet stores.
Mix one part vinegar and one part water, spray the area, wipe clean, repeat until the odor is gone. Vinegar neutralizes the cat urine. Good Luck! =)
