Question:How do I get nail polish out of carpeting? Its light tan carpeting. Will nail polish remover ruin it?

Answers:
You might try WD40 it may remove the nail polish. I use this stuff all the time cleaning offices when there is a stubborn stain. Spray the WD40 on a cleaning towel do not spray it directly on the carpet. If this does not work try rubbing alcohol same way put it on the rag not directly on the carpet. General rule when I am cleaning houses or offices I usually apply the cleaning product on the cleaning towel not directly on a surface or carpet.

i would not use polish remover, it can de-laminate the backing not to mention what it might do to the fibers depending on what type of carpet it is! you will probably have to cut (shave lightly) the poilsh out, but this will only work if its a small spot. other wise you need a professional to make a patch - boy i hope it aint in a real noticable spot! good luck!
I got this stuff online called Versatle. funny name I know but it took the ink out of my carpet without ruining it, fingernail polish off the carpet, and it is nontoxic. also took the rust stain out of linoleum , got to love those coffee cans :)
