How do I make my stinky dish rags and dish towels smell good again?
Question:A lot of my dish rags and dish towels are in good condition, but have a real musty smell, even after I wash them in the washing machine. Is there something I can use to get that smell out of them? I'm so tired of having them come out of the dryer still reeking.
Answers:
Wash them again and add 1/2 cup- 1 cup vinegar to the wash. Vinegar is a great deodorizer.
If they are white then bleach them. If not, try washing them in vinegar. The musty smell is very hard to get out of anything. You may have to just throw them away. Good Luck!
Bleach and hot water.
BLEEEEAAAACH!!
thats it lol
or ur washer has mold inside, which is MUCH harder to get rid of
soak them in hot water with vinegar , wash and dry in sun . or you can try amonia, diluted,
if they are colored ones wash them in washing machine and with gain washing powder /if they are white ones wash them in bleach and gain and that will do the trick \. i know this would work
If you don't mind the color fading or running soak them in bleach for an hour or so & then wash them. I have the same problem with all towels. I don't want to use bleach on them so I use much more soap than usual & once the washer is full I shut it off & let them soak for awhile & then continue the cycle.
Someone gave me a tip on this very thing and it works believe it or not. Try soaking them in liquid potpourri for about 30 minutes. Use a light colored liquid, such as vanilla, then wash them alone in hot water. This should do the trick.
