How do you get water stains off wood?

Question:round glass stains on dressers

Answers:
You could simply try rubbing a little mayonnaise on the problem area (yes, it works!), but usually a combination of a gentle abrasive with a lubricant is the solution. Just rub your abrasive/lubricant mixture in the same direction as the grain, using a clean, dry cloth.

Here are some abrasive/lubricant combinations:

Cigarette ashes and mayonnaise
Fine grade steel wool dipped in paste wax
Non-gel toothpaste and baking soda
Hello, you may like to try this:

rottenstone or pumice (which are powdered abrasives) shaken on top and mixed into a paste.

Good Luck!

White marks can often be polished out by rubbing the area with metal polish wadding. Rub vigorously to generate heat. Black marks may not respond, in which case the existing polish will have to be removed and new polish applied
try gently rubbing alcohol on the area. Water stains are caused by water seeping beyond the finish and penetrating the wood. Applying alcohol can cause it to mix with the water, and as the alcohol evaporates, so does the water. This will remove the white spot caused by the water.

good luck
