Can vinegar take rust off metal? If not what can? URGENT!!?

Question:my sister has some tools she wants to clean tonight, but we don't know how to. HELP PLEASE!!

Answers:
Ball up some aluminum foil and use that to scrub away the rust. You could use steel wool too. I wouldn't use anything liquid, including vinegar.

Soaking them in Coca-Cola works wonders. Try it!
Vineger and baking soda works better. Brush it with a wire brush.
Baking soda!on hot hot water!
No, vinegar will not work. Car centers sell stuff like Naval Jelly and other things that claim to remove rust. I have never found one that works well. I do mechanical removal such as grinding, scraping and sanding.
Salt water does a decent job also use it as a paste/scrub. But commercially stuff works better. Naval Jelly, CLR, and Lime Away are the best and most popular brands.
Go to the hardware store and get Jasco metal etch.sounds like it is dangerous to use but actually is very safe to use. Comes in a white, quart size, plastic bottle with black lettering. I use it full strength but you may what to try diluting at first. Good luck...
coca cola. not pepsi. when you see how well it works, you'll never drink it again. : )
get some muiatic acid. but be carfull.
I would use CLR. Calcium, Lime, RUST remover. Good luck.
