How do you get dried play doh out of carpet?
Question:Per other suggestions I have tried brushing it out with a stiff brush after it dried, and this only removed little bits of it. Most of it is still there, and it is pretty much stuck around the individual fibers of the carpet. The carpeting is new if this helps any with cleaning suggestions.

Have you tried freezing it off. a few ice cubes in a plastic bag and rub. Then scrape of with a blunt knife. hope this helps
First step is to thoroughly beat the child responsible, then start by using the mildest solutions: Warm water, then mild soapy water etc..
Dampen the spot with water, and let it sit for a minute or two. Then scrub it, in circular motion, with soap and water. After you get iyt out, which doesnt take long, rinse the spot and dry it.
Call a carpet cleaner. I am sure they have come across many problems that we have not seen until it happens to us.
They may just advise you what to do.
JUST SOAP AND WATER ON A RAG, IT IS WATER SOLUBLE

This is my On-line Cleaning Bible for Carpets ..
try some vinagar or hot water.
call a professional, if you're really desperate. I clean carpets professionally, using a truck mount steam cleaner, and play doh comes out very easily.
Make sure it is all the way dry and break it up with a putty knife/blunt scrapy thing and vacuum. After you do that, clean up what you can with warm water, and then try water with soap.
If that doesn't work, you should be able to do it with one of those rental carpet cleaners. If the carpet is particularly delicate or something, I would just have a professional do it if you can't get it all with clear water.
If they drop playdough bits on a hard floor, leave any small pieces where they are and try to keep them from getting stepped on and they will sweep up no problem. Playdough gets pretty nasty when it gets wet.
