How do you wash board shorts?
Question:i bought a pair of oneil board shorts from pac sun, and im wondering if i put detergent in the washing machine. or is detergent gonna mess up the shorts?

i always just handwash my surf gear (board shorts and rash gards). i run a tablespoon of detergent (i use tide) under hot water, plug the sink, and soak for about a half hour. then i rinse with cold water and hang in-side-out outside.
i just posted this in another question, but if you have that "beach" smell or "chlorine" smell (from a pool) use this stuff called SuitSolutions. You can buy it at a sporting goods store and it works magic on swimsuits and other surf-wear.
Read the washing instructions on the tag
wash just as you would any other clothing. Surf clothes, board shorts, rash guards, etc. are a lot more durable than normal stuff.
