Swiffer vs. Regular Mop?

Question:I say the regular mop, swiffers are weak little girly men.

Answers:
If you have animals, stay away from swiffer.

Swiffer killed this German Shepard - liver failure :(
Antifreeze is an ingredient.

Swiffers only advantage is not having to use a bucket of water and cleaner. Due to their flimsy material and flat surface they really can't clean very well and once the pad is dirty you just push dirt around unless you change the pad often enough.
i sgree with you id rather use my mop than those expensive cheap things
i agree, i have hard wood floors and it seem my wet jet just pushes around some of the dirt, the best mop i've ever had is a mop by O-Cedar, it's yellow and green sold at Target.
Swiffer is easier to use, even though it doesn't get the job done. This is why it's so popular. People don't want to carry a bucket and a heavy mop so they just use an alternate that sort of does what they want.

I would prefer a mop because it REALLY cleans the floor.
I love my swiffer, I have 3 levels of hard wood and some ceramic and my swiffer is the best thing I have used. When I mopped I would have to change the water for each floor . It is so much easier to change the pad. I always sweep first then use the swiffer and it qworks great. I have never had a problem with streaks like I did mopping. (And I have animals! I sweep the hair and litter up then I swiffer) I love it!
Speaking of mopping, I gotta do that. I tried the Swiffer mop thing but found it so lacking--Swiffer cleaning liquid wasn't strong enough for my needs, the paper mophead got waterlogged too quickly, since it is just paperish, it falls apart and don't scrub when a spot needs some scrubbing. I went back to my regular sponge mop which does a better job, I can use it with bleach in the bathroom, ammonia in the kitchen, and Murphy's soap for the wood floors. I also bought the Swiffer dust things but only use them (lost the handle thing long ago) when I need something quick to remove the dust from the tv screen or computer screen or if the cats shed too much hair on the keyboard (too much to merely blow away). Otherwise, them things are too expensive and don't do a great job of removing the type of dust and dirt we have here--nice idea though but without some sort of moisturizing stuff to capture the dust, it turns into just another thing to push the dust from one place to another.

And as long as we're speaking of cleaning, many years ago there used to be something called "Johnny Mops"--plastic stick where you slid a blue soap pad on the end to scrub out the toilet, then opened the plastic handle to unload the paper pad into the toilet and you just flushed. These disappeared 10 years ago (or so). And now Clorox and other companies are putting these similar things out at hugely inflated rates.
I threw out the Swiffer early on..just couldn't get it to do more than skim the surface. Back to a regular mop.
ya i agree. Only thing swiffer is good for is puttin a wet cloth on the end of the stick and then using it to wash walls. it works great that way, but to buy all them papers just to throw them out? pointless
I use the swiffer spray mop for a quick over daily or every other day, then on the weekends when I do a good cleaning of the house I use the mop, because I can use a stronger cleaner for disinfecting.
I think swiffers are good for spot cleaning. Other than that they just push the dirt to the edges of the room. I find it easier to just use a mop. I used a swiffer for a couple of months & when I finally got sick of the floor still looking gross I got down on the floor & scrubbed. You wouldnt beleive the dirt that was still on the floor. YUCK
