Why does my dishwasher leave a film on all the dishes?
Question:It almost looks like the detergent is not washing away completely. I use Cascade powder and I use that Jet Dry rinse aid stuff. Is there some way to remedy this?
Answers:
Run the dishwasher with only vinegar in the soap and rinse aid dispenser.Make sure they are not clogged, and have no dried old soap, etc. in them.
Should do the trick.
do you have hard water? if so add a small amount of borax.
Um.. I suggest handwashing your dishes like I do.
TRY ELECTRASOL
It might be your water itself. I would test your water and see if its got extra calcium or something in it!
It partly depends on your water. I had the same problem with Cascade and had to change to Sunlight. Might want to try another brand and see if that helps. Also, I use just a small amount of white vinegar sometimes in the second rinse. Hope this helps.
Try vinegar, 1/2 cup right in the bottom of the dishwasher, this works for me whenever that starts happening, and it's way cheaper than Jet Dry. And I switched to the gel Cascade as well. You can get that at the Dollar General Store.
Your wash water maybe too hot. Try cold water.
I had this problem, looked on the package of dishwasher degerent, it said to add more detergent if it kept leaving a film. So I did, and the film went away. I doubled the amount I was using, by adding it to the extra cup most dishwashers have for just that reason.
