Oil based carpet stain?

Question:My dog knocked over a oil based scent diffuser and now I have a salad plate sized dark red oily stain on nearly new carpet. I covered it with salt hoping that it would absorb the oil. Has anyone else spilled one of these and how did you remove the oily mess from the carpet?

Answers:
Hi, I use the following:
1) W/40
2) Rubbing Alcohol

Note: If it's a tough stain, you may have to apply more than 2 applications, also please try a small area first, if it works, then it's great.

Spary thoroughly with super clean. found in the automotive department... Its a strong degreaser. then use a steam cleaner. it should remove a lot of it... try oxy clean for the red color.
