What is the best all purpose household cleaner?

Question:We're doing major house cleaning of a new house we just got and need an all purpose cleaner to use on vinyl floors, polyurethyne (sp?) coated hardwood floors, tile, latex painted walls (maybe), and bathroom fixtures. What do you recommend? Thanks!

i recommend that YOU slow down the pot. make fun of me will ya... hmmph... Seriously now... little bit of dishsoap to alot of hot water, give it a once over... go back with warm water with just a capful of ammonia, and wipe clean the soap film. i know it is alot more work, but if you do it that way, you will not have to clean as often...

Zep 505 from Home Depot.it is fantastic.works on everything and easy to use.
I work in a preschool so you can imagine the crap i clean up off of all sorts of surfaces. What i do is i take a empty spray bottle and fill the bottom inch or so (think like a 20oz spray bottle) with laundry detergent-powder or liquid. Fill the rest with water and shake it up. I am telling you-this has gotten crayon and perment marker off of tables-it's nuts! Good Luck!
Kaboom (from doller genearal) works really well, and it's not expensive.
white vinegar, cleans and removes odors and is very cheap..just add a little soap for mopping and then clear water to take it off..no residue
there is a cleaner called (DR. BONNERS) it's good for anything from cleaning windows to scrubbing a floor. it's all natural, enviro. safe. i'm not a tree hugger, but this stuff really works and it lasts forever, few tablespoons in a bucket of water, will last all day long. i have have been a housekeeper at a resort for many years. and got tired of haulling 10 different kinds of cleaners around. and i found DR. BONNERS...
Grease Lightening will work on almost all surfaces...BUT don't use it on wood or natural stones. Do use something made for them or you could ruin or stain them.
There's a cleaner that you can get through janitorial companies called 401 something. You can't buy buy it in a store, but try a janitorial warehouse in your area.

OR

Windex! I clean EVERYTHING with it! It's got ammonia in it so it cleans real good... Shines the metal fixures nicely too! As well as mirrors and windows! lol
awesome cleaner. My Grandma was a house cleaner and she found that this is the best all around product. I started using it also and it is fabulous. It is really cheap also. You can get it at the dollar store.
i like to use mean green. You can even add some to a load of laundry! I also like to use Fabuloso in the apple scent. you can get both from wal-mart
stardrops great all round cleaner
I agree...Fabuluso is a pretty good smelly cleaner. And all purpose cleaner that I can use on everything that I think I could not live without would have to be the Mr. Clean multi-purpose liquid. It smells great and works great. Everywhere I go, I have it in my bucket of water!
