the only way to clean mold is to use bleach. that is if you are talking in a small area like the corner of a room or a closet or on the wall and you just have patches of it some where. I have this problem sometimes and I know for a fact that the only way to kill the spores is to use bleach, all you need to do is get some real hot water and pour a couple of teaspoons of bleach in there take a washrag and wipe down the area. it wont come back unless you have a bigger problem,

I went through this recently and it is a huge pain in the azz. There are different things on the market to combat black mold. I'm not sure we had a rental and our landlord was using everything that was cheap to try and remove it. We moved.
Healthwise mold itself won't cause any problems according to most court cases and lawyers. My lawyer told me that he has represented many landlords because it is a slam dunk case for him and landlords.
What I do know about health concerns is that if you already a health issue it will act as a catylist and make your health issue significantly worse. Especially with asthma or other respiratory illnesses as the spores are airborne. However this is also why you don't have much legal recourse the courts say your health condition was pre existing.
